Brazilian aviation conglomerate Embraer has recently delivered two E195 twin-engine jet aircraft to Tianjin Airlines in China, the South American firm said in a statement.

The delivery was the first batch of an order agreed between the two companies when China’s President Xi Jinping visited Brazil in 2014, online news portal Macauhub reported. According to the contract, Tianjin Airlines would buy 20 E195s and 20 E190-E2 aircraft from Embraer.

Guan Dongyuan, senior vice president of Embraer and chairman of Embraer China, said at the time of the agreement that Tianjin Airlines was not only the company’s biggest customer in the Asia Pacific region but also the manager of its authorised service centre in China. The Chinese airline was also the first customer of Embraer’s E195 aircraft model, the report said.

Tianjin Airlines now operates 45 E190s – the largest such fleet in China – Macauhub said.
