China delivers 1,042 tons of rice to Cape Verde

The Government of Cape Verde received one thousand and forty-two tons of rice from the People's Republic of China. The official handover ceremony took place on the 4th of September, and was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, the Secretary of State for Social Inclusion and the Chinese Ambassador to Cape Verde.


According to the Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Gilberto Silva, this donation represents the complete expression of fruitful cooperation by China, which has been an important partner of Cape Verde.


The Minister assured that the donated rice will be put to good use in Cape Verde, will be destined for the most vulnerable Cape Verdean families and will be managed with total transparency.


In turn, the Chinese ambassador, Xu Jie, assured that they are strengthening contact and cooperation with Cape Verdean institutions, precisely adapting to real needs and actively promoting the implementation of the new program to support the country in the cultivation of capacity and internal growth.
