Chinese technology giant Huawei will provide dozens of scholarships and internships to young Mozambicans, China’s state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
Mozambique’s Minister of Labour and Social Security, Vitória Dias Diogo, announced on Monday in Maputo the Chinese firm would provide 20 scholarships for young Mozambicans, allowing them to “embrace the information and communication technology sector”.
“In the coming two years, 100 Mozambicans could also benefit from internship with the company… not [to] mention the other job opportunities the company normally provides,” the Minister said.
The Mozambican Government expects more companies to follow the initiative of Huawei, as well as it hopes to sign partnership agreements with labour training institutes to help the development of the African nation, Xinhua reported.
