A Chinese firm under the Jiangsu Provincial Government will build a processing plant for agricultural products in Cape Verde. The Chinese Embassy in Cape Verde gave the news in a statement.
Representatives of the Jiangsu Provincial Construction Group and of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cape Verde signed on August 7 – in the African nation’s capital, Praia – an agreement about building the plant, according to the announcement.
The construction area of the processing plant is about 1,120 square metres and the facilities will include a refrigerated warehouse, packaging equipment, and electricity equipment. The Jiangsu construction firm is expected to take 16 months to complete the project, the Embassy added.
According to the company’s website, the firm was founded in 1956 with a registered capital of 601.58 million yuan (US$96.92 million). It currently has over 3,500 workers, and operates construction and investment businesses across the globe.
