Chinese business delegation visits Mozambique

A delegation composed of 30 Chinese businessmen ends on Monday a five-day visit to Maputo, capital of Mozambique, seeking new investment opportunities in that African country. The visit was organised by China’s Association for the Promotion of South-South Cooperation, reports Mozambican newspaper Notícias.

The association includes retired diplomats and representatives of public and private Chinese companies.

The business delegation met with Mozambican Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, on Friday. It also took part in a business seminar to learn about new business opportunities and conditions for investment in Mozambique.

On Friday, the President of the Association for the Promotion of South-South Cooperation, Lyu Xinhua, said Chinese businessmen are interested in invest in a number of areas, including energy, infrastructure, agriculture and health.

“Mozambique was chosen because it has many opportunities to strengthen co-operation with China,” said the Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique, Li Chunhua.
