Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$16.552 billion in January 2023. It represented a 0.11 percent decrease year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$10.022 billion to China in the first month of 2023 – up 3.92 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$6.530 billion in the same period, down 2.41 percent year-on-year.
