From 3 to 11 September, Xie Ying, Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, together with the cross-border e-commerce delegation organised by the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, visited Brazil and Portugal for economic and trade activities.

During the stay in Brazil, the delegation visited the Consulate General of China in São Paulo, the Brazilian Association of E-Commerce and a range of e-commerce and logistics enterprises, namely Cross Commerce Store, Americanas, ST Importações, Uni.Co, headquarters of Kwai Brazil, Shopee, AliExpress, Total Express and Anjun Express, among others. They also participated in the business meeting on Cross-Border E-Commerce Brazil – China (Hengqin) organised by the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. In addition, during the stay in Portugal, the delegation visited the Portugal-China SMEs Chamber of Commerce, Bison Bank, e-commerce enterprise Farfetch, Worten group and World Trade Centre Lisboa. They participated in the “Macao-Hengqin Investment Promotion Seminar – Lisbon, Portugal” held in Oeiras and the promotional activity organised by the Macao Economic and Trade Delegation in Lisbon.

With the visits, the Permanent Secretariat strives to promote Forum Macao’s role and Macao’s functions as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries and foster cross-border e-commerce cooperation and exchanges of Macao and Hengqin with Brazil and Portugal, thereby contributing to the synergetic development of Macao and Hengqin.
