From March 1, 2024, Danilo Afonso Henriques will serve as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, appointed by Portuguese-speaking countries.

Danilo Afonso Henriques, a native of Timor-Leste with a doctorate in international tourism management, has served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste and the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in the People’s Republic of China, among others, and was an advisor to the Secretary of State. From 2014 to 2023, he was the delegate of Timor-Leste to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. He has a wealth of experience in diplomacy and management and in-depth knowledge of Forum Macao’s affairs, and he is proficient in Portuguese, English, Tetum, Italian, French, and Mandarin.
