A delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by the Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Rodrigo Brum, visited Guangzhou, in Guangdong Province, from October 14 to 15, to participate in the 122nd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). The delegation visited several pavilions at the Fair and exchanged views with business people.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao and the China Foreign Trade Centre maintain a close relationship. Their participation in the Canton Fair is another important step in promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as it facilitates the entry of companies from the latter places into the Mainland China market.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao organises each year a delegation to take part in the Canton Fair and has annually set up a stand at the venue. The stand helps to promote the Portuguese-speaking Countries’ business and investment environments. At the same time, the Pavilion helps to promote the work done by Forum Macao and Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Via the participation in the Canton Fair, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao aims to foster closer economic and trade cooperation between Mainland China, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
