On July 25, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) hosted 25 students from Portuguese-speaking Countries who are enrolled at Macao Polytechnic Institute.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Echo Chan, and some of the delegates from Portuguese-speaking Countries, guided the students during the visit to the Permanent Secretariat’s office. They also gave a briefing about Forum Macao, Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and the work of Permanent Secretariat in the fields of trade and investment, human resource training, and promotion of cultural exchanges.

During the briefing, the members of Forum Macao encouraged the attending students to support the development of Macao as a platform for the training – via formal qualification – of speakers bilingual in Chinese and Portuguese, in order to deepen cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
