New Representative of Mozambique to the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum Macao takes office

The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao, informs that the new Representative of Mozambique to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ms Francisca António Torcida Reino, took office on February 16, 2015.


Ms Torcida Reino replaces Ms Esmeralda Matias Patrício as the Representative of Mozambique to the Permanent Secretariat.


Ms Torcida Reino joined Mozambique’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce in 1996, as a member of the Department for International Relations.


From 2001 to 2011, Ms Torcida Reino performed the role of technical expert at the Ministry’s Department for Specialised Organisations. During that period, she occupied several positions representing Mozambique in international organisations, including: Desk Officer to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); Desk Officer to the World Trade Organization; Desk Officer to the Group of Least Developed Countries; and Desk Officer to Japan, Thailand and Zimbabwe.


From 1996 to 2000, Ms Torcida Reino was Desk Officer to the Southern African Development Community (SADC), during the years of ratification and implementation of the SADC’s Protocol on Trade.


In 2011, she was appointed head of the Bureau of Bilateral Cooperation and International Forums, under the Department for International Relations of Mozambique’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
