The president of Portugal's Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (Aicep), Ricardo Arroja, is promoting a mission to attract investment from China, as part of Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel's delegation to China between March 23 and 29.

“The strategic mission to China aims to boost investment and foster commercial partnerships between the two countries,” according to the agency's press release. To this end, the president of Aicep will meet with “government representatives, potential investors and senior executives, as well as holding meetings with local media, in order to explore opportunities in innovative and strategic sectors, such as the automobile sector, electric mobility and energy”.

Ricardo Arroja points out that “this mission to China is a decisive step towards strengthening Portugal's presence in one of the largest global markets” and stresses that “Portugal continues to be a trusted partner and a reference point in the Chinese investment panorama in the world”.
