China, Bahia's main trading partner, has reaffirmed its importance in the state's international relations with another official visit to Salvador. From December 9 to 13, a delegation from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Rio de Janeiro visited to Salvador, the capital of Bahia, to deepen bilateral ties and explore new opportunities for cooperation, with a focus on actions aimed at reducing poverty.
The delegation, made up of the deputy consul general, Wang Haitao, the commercial consul, Jing Yanhui, and the deputy consul general of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Zeng Can, was received on December 11 at the headquarters of the Bahia Superintendence of Economic and Social Studies (SEI). The meeting was attended by state authorities, reinforcing the mutual commitment to promote strategic and sustainable development.
According to SEI's director-general, José Acácio Ferreira, the SEI's role was to present the state's characteristics to Chinese representatives , and two sides identified strategic themes of common interest, such as logistics, low carbon and poverty reduction, as well as promoted a win-win cooperation model in the business environment.
