On November 19, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Chinese coffee chain company, Luckin Coffee, signed a memorandum of understanding at the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) to promote Brazilian coffee in China.
The memorandum provides for the purchase of approximately 240,000 tons of Brazilian coffee by Luckin Coffee between 2025 and 2029. This export volume is expected to generate revenues of US$ 2.5 billion. According to the MDIC, the agreement should promote Brazilian coffee exports.
According to Luckin Coffee's CEO, Jinyi Guo, Luckin Coffee will also invest in an office in Brazil and a support center for Brazilian coffee growers.
