The Provincial Government of the Chinese Province - Hunan, through its Vice-Governor, Zhang Yingchun, officially handed over three ambulances to the Municipality of Manatuto, Timor-Leste. The handover ceremony, held on October 25 in Hunan, was attended by the Timor-Leste's Minister of State Administration, Tomás do Rosário Cabral, who received the vehicles on behalf of the municipality.
The donation is in response to the commitment made by the Provincial Government of Hunan during the visit of the Vice-Governor, Zhang Jian Fei, to Manatuto in May this year, when both parties celebrated the tenth anniversary of the friendly and cooperative relation between Hunan and Manatuto.
The provision aims to promote the Manatuto's capacities and support the local health system. The relationship between Timor/Leste and China has strengthened over the years, especially through the cooperation between the municipality of Manatuto and the province of Hunan, resulting in projects in various areas.
