The Chinese medical team in the Guinea-Bissau announced that the Affiliated Hospital of the North Sichuan Medical College, China, organized a medical team of specialists on October 12 this year to afford medical assistance and direct support at the Canchungo Regional Hospital in Guinea-Bissau, marking the start of the project's phase of continuous operation and application of medical techniques.

The project aims to comprehensively improve the capacity of the Canchungo Regional Hospital to provide medical services, by providing technical support, donating equipment, training staff and improving infrastructure.

In this team, the four specialists sent by the Affiliated Hospital of the North Sichuan Medical College are experienced professionals in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and hospital management. They will carry out a range of activities at Canchungo Regional Hospital, including surgical guidance, technical training, remote consultations, systems maintenance and guidance on the use of medical equipment. In addition, the team of experts will have in-depth dialogues with local doctors and hospital management departments, discussing the creation of a sustainable support mechanism that allows for self-sufficiency in the health sector.
