The Unicamp has just renewed its agreement with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Cass). The University is the only one in South America to have this partnership. Initially signed in 2019, the agreement between Unicamp and Cass will now run until 2029.
Rachel Meneguello, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies of Unicamp, expressed that this agreement has afforded very important and innovative opportunities in the fields of education and comparative research between Brazil and China. With this renewal, these new opportunities will be added to the existing activities in the areas of sociology, political science, demography, economics and anthropology, such as the exchange of students and professors, collective research projects and the development of an international inter-institutional postgraduate course in this area.
In addition to this agreement, the Unicamp is willing to establish a Brazil-China Studies Center, congregating and potential academic and scientific initiatives in various areas.
