Chinese investment in Angola passes USD 24 billion barrier

On September 26, the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, reported that the volume of investment by Chinese companies in Angola had exceeded 24 billion US dollars, at the ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, held in Luanda, reaffirming that Angola is a strategic cooperation partner for China in Africa.  


During the ceremony, the ambassador pointed out that China-Angola relations have been developing healthily over the long term, and as an example, the holding last July in Angola of the 15th. Entrepreneurs' Meeting for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the CPLP.


Besides, he also highlighted the Agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments (APPRI), which came into force in June this year, as well as the signing of pragmatic cooperation documents in the areas of joint construction of the “Belt and Road”, economy and trade, agriculture, green development and infrastructure, recognizing the achievements of cooperation between China and Angola.
