Emergent Cold LatAm became the first third-party logistics company in Brazil authorized to export meat to China. The company appears on the list of new units enabled by the Chinese, released on March 12.
With authorization, the unit in Rio Grande (RS) has permission to store and ship frozen meats to meet the growing demand for animal proteins of Brazilian origin destined for the Chinese market. The expectation now is to double the volume of cargo stored and handled at the unit.
"It is proof of our dedication to raising the standard of refrigerated logistics in Brazil, helping to strengthen commercial relations between Brazil and China," said in a statement the general director of Emergent Cold LatAm in the Southern Cone, Evandro Calanca.
The company is the largest supplier of refrigerated storage and logistics in Latin America and the Caribbean. Currently, Emergent Cold LatAm operates more than 70 cold storage facilities distributed across 11 countries in Latin America.
