EDP has agreed to buy back the 49 per cent stake it sold several years ago to China Three Gorges (CTG) in a group of wind farms located in Portugal, Italy and Poland. The repurchase was made for around 570 million euros, the Portuguese electricity company said in a statement to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM).

Between 2016 and 2017, EDP Renováveis had sold CTG a 49 per cent stake in these assets, which it will now control 100 per cent.

Also on 29 December, EDP informed the CMVM of an agreement to sell its 50% stake in Energia Asia, which holds 21.2% of Companhia de Electricidade de Macau.

After selling 50 per cent of its business in Macau to a subsidiary of China Three Gorges (CTG) in 2014, EDP will now sell the remaining 50 per cent in Energia Asia to CTG.
