In the context of strengthening cooperation between Angola and China, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, received the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Luanda, Chen Feng, on 3 October.

Esmeralda Mendonça congratulated China on its 74th anniversary and emphasised that cooperation between the two countries is strategic and that both sides need to continue their efforts to sign the various agreements and identify new areas for cooperation, in the light of the Joint Commission for Economic, Technical and Commercial Cooperation.

The Secretary of State welcomed the exchange of permanent visits, recalling that the Chinese Minister of Commerce was recently in Angola as part of the Steering Committee for Economic and Trade Co-operation, which shows the importance that the two peoples and governments attach to friendly relations.
