Three Mozambican students are on their way to China, where they will spend six years studying medicine at the University of South China.

The scholarships are the result of a partnership between the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce (CCM) and the Hengyang Municipal Chamber in China, confirmed at the business forum between the two countries, recently held in the Mozambican capital.

"This is the first time we've taken scholarship students abroad for training and over time we want more young people to have this opportunity as a way of responding to the various challenges Mozambique has in the area of education," said Sandra Brito, the chair of the Education and Entrepreneurship department at the CCM.

She explained that the choice of the Medicine course was due to the fact that Mozambique needs more professionals in this area with better qualifications.
