The business environment for foreign firms investing in the mainland is improving, CCTV reports.

The Chinese government-run broadcaster quotes Ministry of Commerce spokesman Shen Danyang as saying greater transparency had improved the legal environment.

“[The Chinese government] attaches great importance to the concerns of foreign enterprises and will keep up its efforts to create a more just, transparent and predictable investment environment,” Mr Shen is quoted as saying.

Foreign direct investment in the first eight months of this year was 4.5 percent greater than in the equivalent period last year.
