Macau Plops Investment & Promotion Co. Ltd has given two water purifiers to the main hospitals in Cabo Verde so they can obtain drinking water more cheaply, Inforpress reports.
The Cabo Verde state-run news agency says the company gave one water purifier to the Agostinho Neto Hospital in Praia and the other to the Baptista de Sousa Hospital on the island of São Vicente.
The report quotes Baptista de Sousa Hospital President Ana Brito as saying the gift will save a lot of money, because his hospital used to buy bottled water for drinking.
It quotes Macau Plops General Manager Lao Kam Chio as saying the quality of the water processed by the purifiers will be monitored electronically around the clock.
Macau Plops has given similar machinery to Guiné-Bissau, São Tomé e Príncipe and Mozambique, Inforpress says.
