A subsidiary of Power Construction Corp. of China Ltd has taken the contract to build a coal-fired power station in the western Mozambican city of Tete, East Money reports.
The Chinese financial news website says the power station will have two 350- megawatt generators.
The report says the Mozambican Government considers the project a big cooperative contribution to the Chinese Belt and Road initiative, East Money says.
In April the Chinese government-run news agency, Xinhua, reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi witnessed the signing in Beijing of a number of agreements on Sino-Mozambican cooperation meant to contribute to the Belt and Road initiative.
