Some of the furniture sold in the Cidade da China Chinese emporium in suburban Luanda is made in Angola, Jornal de Angola reports.

The newspaper quotes Cidade da China board secretary Xiang Haiying as saying promoting sales of Angolan furniture is one of the purposes of a furniture fair to be held at the emporium from October 24 to November 24.

The report says the owner of the emporium, Chinese company Hua Dragão, has plans for over 40 stands at the fair and expects the event to draw between 3,000 and 5,000 people each day.

The company is considering building an exhibition pavilion at Cidade da China so it can hold fairs there all year round, Jornal de Angola quotes Ms Xiang as saying.
