Mainland Chinese law firm Winteam 500 and Macao law firm FCLAW Lawyers and Private Notaries will get together to set up the Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries Legal Service Centre to act for Chinese clients in lusophone countries, the China Trade News Portal reports.

The Chinese government-run website says representatives of the firms signed an agreement to that effect during the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair last week.

The report quotes an executive of FCLAW, Wong Oi Man, as saying the centre will advise Mainland Chinese venturing out into the Portuguese-speaking world and parts of Africa where other languages are spoken.

FCLAW has lawyers licensed to practise in Macao, Portugal and Brazil, and has experts on the legal systems in Mozambique, Angola, Guinea-Bissau and other countries, the China Trade News Portal quotes Ms Wong as saying.
