Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said his country is thinking about whether to invest in building a deepwater port and expanding the international airport in São Tomé and Príncipe, Lusa reports.
The Portuguese news agency says Mr Wang said so in a press conference in São Tomé and Príncipe, the last stop on his tour of four African countries, including Angola.
The report says the São Tomé government regards the airport expansion and deepwater port as the most important projects for economic development.
Mr Wang promised Chinese support for drainage and road rehabilitation projects in São Tomé and Príncipe.
China and São Tomé and Príncipe will co-operate in fisheries, marine product processing, agriculture, tourism and services, Lusa quotes the minister as saying.
