Angola hopes tourism will make its economy more diverse and become a new driver of growth, the Chinese Embassy in Luanda says.

The embassy issued a written statement quoting Angolan Hotel and Tourism Minister Ângela Bragança as saying so in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Cui Aimin.

The statement quotes Ms Bragança as saying that her country could learn much from China about managing tourist attractions and training staff.

The minister is hoping for more Chinese investment in the tourism industry in Angola.

Angola should give Chinese investors preferential treatment and make the country safer for tourists, the embassy quotes Mr Cui as saying.
