The National Administration of Conservation Areas in Mozambique has announced that it is negotiating with China about ways to co-ordinate measures to counter trafficking in wildlife, AIM reports.

The Mozambican news agency quotes a written statement issued by the administration as saying China and Mozambique are interested in increasing their exchanges of information about trafficking in wildlife, in joint training in ways to counter it, and in mounting campaigns to increase popular awareness of the problem.

The smuggling of ivory, rhino horn and pangolin scales from Mozambique to China has increased recently, AIM says.
