Official figures indicate that China was the biggest source of foreign direct investment in Mozambique in the first half of this year, the 21st Century Business Herald reports.
The Chinese newspaper, citing Mozambican Investment and Export Promotion Agency data, says FDI by China in Mozambique amounted to US$173 million in the first half.
The data indicate that the next-biggest sources of FDI were Mauritius, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon, the 21st Century Business Herald says.
