Representatives of Brazilian and Chinese companies will sign shortly an agreement whereby China will furnish Brazil with money and know-how for nuclear power generation, Reuters reports.

The news agency, citing the Brazilian government as its source, says the agreement, between Eletronuclear of Brazil and China National Nuclear Corp., will be signed during the visit to China by Brazilian President Michel Temer.

The report says the companies have agreed to join forces to complete the Angra 3 nuclear power station, the third nuclear power station in Brazil. Angra 3 is on the coast south of Rio de Janeiro.

The project has dragged on for three decades because Brazil lacks the estimated 16 billion reais (US$5 billion) needed to finish it, Reuters says.
