The new Municipal Hospital of Cuango, built by Chinese contractor Sinomach in the Angolan province of Lunda Norte, has been inaugurated, Angop reports.
The Angolan news agency says work on the hospital began in 2014. The report says the project cost US$5.51 million, borrowed from China.
The hospital has 2,000 square metres of floor space, 80 beds, an emergency room, an operating room, a delivery room, a pharmacy and all the other ancillary facilities to be expected in a hospital of its size. Four specialists and 25 nurses will staff the facility.
Malaria is common in Lunda Norte, Angop says.
