A Chinese-Irish venture will invest €200 million (US$210.64 million) in building a photovoltaic power station in Portugal’s Algarve region, Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Negócios reports.

China Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Irish renewable energy company WElink will begin work on the 220-megawatt project next month. The report said the plant will be completed within two years.

The building phase will create about 200 jobs and the ongoing operation of the plant will require about 30 jobs.
