Portugal has accredited the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) bachelor degree on Translation and Interpretation in Chinese-Portuguese-Chinese, Jornal Tribuna de Macau reports.

The newspaper says the president of Portugal’s Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education, Alberto Amaral, praised the institute’s efforts “to offer high-quality teaching to its students”.

Mr Amaral was in Macao to deliver his organisation’s assessment report.

The report quotes MPI president Lei Heong Iok as saying the Translation and Interpretation in Chinese-Portuguese-Chinese bachelor degree was the first of its kind in China and was the first in the country to be recognised internationally.
