The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Minho in Portugal’s north discussed expanding research ties last week, the Correio do Minho newspaper reports.

The newspaper says representatives from both institutions discussed existing scientific research collaborations and also laid the groundwork for new partnerships during the academy’s visit.

The meetings were positive and the possibility of future projects was discussed, University of Minho rector António Cunha was quoted as saying.

Chinese Academy of Sciences president Bai Chunli led the delegation from the mainland.
