China, Portuguese-speaking Countries trade tops US$98.0 bln in Jan-Oct

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$97.999 billion in the period from January to October 2017. It represented a 29.81 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$68.382 billion to China in the first 10 months of 2017 – a rise of 32.21 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$29.618 billion in the same period, up 24.60 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in October between the parties topped US$8.573 billion, down 22.11 percent from the previous month.


The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$5.573 billion, a decrease of 27.63 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.000 billion in October, down 9.24 percent compared with the previous month.
