China has donated equipment worth a total of US$10 million to Televisão de Moçambique (TVM), the national broadcaster of the African nation, for use in television satellite broadcasting services, Mozambican news agency AIM reported.
Online media Macauhub quoted the report saying a Wednesday handover ceremony for the technology was attended by China’s Ambassador to Mozambique, Su Jian, the President of TVM, Jaime Cuambe, and the director of the Information Office of the Mozambican Government, Emília Moiane.
Mr Su said China had made similar donations to other African nations including Zimbabwe and Tanzania: the equipment offered to Mozambique was the latest technology.
It includes three vehicles for outside broadcasts and several cameras, the report said.
