A total of 14 tourism businesses from Portugal will take part in a seminar to be held at the 4th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE), the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has announced.

The event will be held in Macao from September 2 to 4. It will include a China-Portugal Tourism Promotion Seminar and Travel Mart. The latter is aimed at promoting exchanges among tourism operators from China and those from Portuguese-speaking countries, MGTO said in a press release.

In addition to the 14 tourism operators from Portugal, some Portuguese officials are also expected to attend the event, the statement said. João Rodrigues Pires will be representing the Turismo de Portugal institute, a body under Portugal’s Ministry of Economy, Macao newspaper Ponto Final reported.

More than 135 companies and entities from 15 countries and regions have confirmed their presence at this year’s edition of MITE, according to MGTO. The event will feature at least 369 exhibitors, it added.
