Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$57.358 billion in the period from January to June 2017. It represented a 37.58 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$40.772 billion to China in the first six months of 2017 – an increase of 41.80 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$16.586 billion in the same period, up 28.20 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in June between the parties topped US$11.033 billion, down by 9.20 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$7.548 billion, a decrease of 14.30 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.485 billion in June, up by 4.21 percent compared with the previous month.
