The Chief Executive of Macau, Chui Sai On, will visit Portugal in September, public broadcaster Rádio Macau reported.

It will be Mr Chui’s second official trip to the European nation while Chief Executive, according to the news report. His first visit was in 2010.

The programme for Mr Chui’s latest trip includes a meeting with the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and a meeting with the Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, said the media outlet.

“The Chief Executive’s office has received the invitation from the Portuguese side, for an official visit and, at this moment, is in the stage of preparation [for that trip],” the Government’s Spokesperson Office told Portuguese news agency Lusa, confirming the report.
