Credit lines provided by China to Angola are helping the African country to finance the construction of seven new industrial development hubs, said Kiala Gabriel, Angola’s Secretary of State for Industry.
Angolan news agency Angop quoted him saying last week the planning process for the industrial development hubs was “almost in the final stage”.
Online media outlet Macauhub reported that one of the industrial hubs, located in Caála, Huambo province, would cover an area of more than 1,000 hectares, featuring basic infrastructure such as roads, water supply, electricity networks and other public facilities.
China and Angola sealed new financing deals last year. According to these, China will provide about US$6 billion in credit lines to the African country to finance a range of public sector projects.
