Trade between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries hit US$53.3 billion in the first five months of 2014, up by 9.28 percent from a year earlier, according to data from the Chinese General Administration of Customs.
Chinese imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries were up 11.63 percent year-on-year in the first five months of the year, reaching US$36.3 billion. China sold goods and services to Portuguese-speaking Countries worth US$17 billion during the period, up by 4.56 percent from a year earlier.
Total trade value for the month of May reached US$12 billion, down by 1.89 percent from the previous month.
The value of China’s imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries fell by 4.14 percent month-on-month to US$8.37 billion in May, while exports to those countries reached US$3.63 billion, up by 3.71 percent from the previous month.
