There is a bright prospect for co-operation between China and Angola, despite the recent economic slowdown in both countries, said Cui Aimin, Chinese Ambassador to the African nation.

According to an Embassy statement, Mr Cui recently met with representatives from more than 20 Chinese companies investing in Angola. Mr Cui praised those firms for their long-term contributions to business co-operation between the two countries.

“Due to the latest changes in the Chinese economy, as well as in Angola’s economy and the global economy, [Chinese] enterprises in Angola will face many challenges,” he said. “But there is still an enormous potential for co-operation between China and Angola.”

Mr Cui also stressed the need for Chinese companies to adapt to the new economic environment.
