The National Association of Guinea-Bissau Farmers recently signed an agreement with China CWZX Real Estate Development, a Chinese state-owned firm, to modernise the agriculture sector in the African nation, online news portal Macauhub reported.
Jaime Gomes, president of the association, said the partnership aimed to help farmers increase their production yields and diversify their products.
The Chinese firm would supply tractors to Guinea-Bissau farmers, as well as train them in the maintenance of agricultural products, he added.
According to Macauhub, the deal has been submitted to the Guinea-Bissau Government for review. Representatives of the Chinese firm would pay a visit to the African nation if the authorities approved the proposed co-operation, it added.
