On the 12th of August, the Chinese Embassy in São Tomé and Príncipe, Xu Yingzhen, celebrated the Chinese Culture Day in the Autonomous Region of Principe, taking advantage of "August Culture Month", which is marked in the region, to promote cultural exchanges and strengthen cooperation ties between the two countries.

The Chinese Culture Day celebrated in the Autonomous Region of Príncipe featured numerous activities and demonstrations, such as writing Chinese characters, teaching Chinese Kung-Fu, games, literary exhibition, dissemination of conventional and traditional medicine, gastronomy and tea tasting, costumes, masks, among others, and was attended by the Confucius Institute at the University of São Tomé and Príncipe and the Chinese Medical Team.

The Chinese ambassador also visited the Dr. Manuel Quaresma Dias da Graça Hospital, having witnessed a consultation session held by the Chinese Medical Team and the delivery of a batch of medicines and medical equipment.
