Angola is launching a series of projects in Lunda Sul province to improve education in the region. The projects are being financed through a credit line provided by China, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
Angola’s Minister of Education, Pinda Simão, made the announcement in Lunda Sul’s capital, Saurimo, on Tuesday. He said the aim was to bring more youths into the school system.
The projects include the improvement of education services for primary and secondary students, and the launch of new courses in those schools, the Angolan Minister explained.
The initiative also involves offering additional professional education courses for youths and improving the School of Teacher Training, he added.
“Lunda Sul province is giving positive steps in the field of education, with the construction of new schools, especially in rural communities,” Mr Simão said, as quoted by Angop.
The Minister also encouraged local government “to continue to invest in the [education] sector, in order to contribute to the training of qualified professionals”.
