The entrepreneurship program aimed at startups and companies, “928 Challenge”, changed its name and is now called “929 Challenge” due to the entry of Equatorial Guinea as a permanent member of Forum Macao.
The “929 Challenge” was created by professor Marco Duarte Rizzolio and José Alves, Director of the Faculty of Management of the City University of Macao, and is co-organized by Forum Macao and a number of Chinese and foreign universities. It is a contest to facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to the opportunities provided by the fact that Macao is a commercial and service platform, fostering cooperation between Chinese companies and companies from Portuguese-speaking countries.
In a statement, Marco Duarte Rizzolio said, regarding the program’s name change, that it represents the growing number of Portuguese-speaking countries in the world. “This change symbolizes our commitment to promoting Portuguese-speaking entrepreneurial ecosystems and bringing together people who share an interest in developing business between China and Portuguese-speaking countries,” he added.
