The oil and natural gas production project in the field of Buzios, designed by Petrobras, began successfully advancing on the 16th of February. The company announced the departure of the FPSO Almirante Barroso de Angra dos Reis, in Rio de Janeiro, for the pre-salt of Campo de Buzios, in the Santos Basin.

The vessel was converted in China, at the Cosco Shipyard. According to Petrobras, its production capacity is 150 thousand barrels of oil and 6 million m³ of gas per day.

According to the Petrobras plan, the Almirante Barroso FPSO will be interconnected to 10 wells, which will be part of the 5th production module of the field of Buzios.

With the addition of the Almirante Barroso FPSO to the Santos Basin area, it will be responsible for 33% of Petrobras oil production by 2026, thus ensuring acceleration in the company’s growth plans.
