Angola’s import volume reached 3.56 million tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2014, according to official data quoted by Portuguese news agency Lusa.
The figure represents a 13-percent jump compared with one year earlier. It was also up 25.1 percent from the previous quarter.
Cement was Angola’s largest import by volume during the final three months of 2014. Between October and December last year, the country imported 540,000 tonnes of it.
China remained Angola’s top supplier of goods, despite a 10.8 percent year-on-year drop in volume during the fourth quarter of 2014. Angola imported close to 742,000 tonnes of goods from Chinese suppliers during the period, show the data reported by Lusa.
